Abstract: Most patients with stroke experience obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), which has a negative impact on functional outcome and cognitive function in patients with stroke and is associated with increased mortality. Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) is a gold standard for treating OSA. This article reviews the effect of CPAP on functional outcome and cognitive function in stroke patients with OSA.
