Abstract: Objective To explore the effects of continuous nursing intervention on the improvement of pulmonary function and quality of life of elderly patients with acute chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD).Methods A to-tal of 106 patients with COPD aged ≥60 years who were admitted to the department of emergency medicine of the author's hospital from January 2021 to January 2022 were selected as the observation objects. The patients were randomly divid-ed into the control group and the experimental group by the number table method, with 53 patients in each.Patients in the control group were given routine nursing intervention, and patients in the experimental group were given continuous nursing intervention. The improvement of pulmonary function and the change of quality of life of the patients in the two groups before and after nursing were observed. Results In terms of pulmonary function, before nursing, there were no significant differences in forced expiratory volume in one second(FEV1),forced vital capacity(FVC)and FEV1/FVC be-tween the two groups(P>0.05);after nursing, the levels of FEV,,FVC and FEV1/FVC in the two groups were signif-icantly higher than those before nursing, and those in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group(all P<0.05).In terms of quality of life, there were no statistically significant differences in symptom scores, disease impact on life scores, activity ability scores and total quality of life scores between the two groups before nursing(P>0.05);the symptom scores, disease impact on life scores, activity ability scores and total quality of life scores of the two groups after nursing were significantly higher than those before, and those of the experimental group were higher than those of the control group(all P<0.05).Conclusion Continuous nursing intervention has good clinical application value for acute elderly COPD patients. It can improve pulmonary function and quality of life of acute elderly COPD patients and is worth popularizing.
