Abstract： Objective To compare the effect of different methylprednisolone treatment regimens on serum bilirubin levels and postoperative cholangitis prevention in children with biliary atresia.Methods 114 children with biliary atresia who received modified kassi treatment in our hospital were selected and divided into the low-dose group and the high-dose group,57 cases in each group.The low-dose group were given low-dose methylprednisolone maintenance treatment,and the high-dose group were given high-dose methylprednisolone impact treatment.Serum bilirubin level,jaundice resolution,hormone-related complications and cholangitis recurrence rate 6 months after surgery were compared between the two groups.Results The levels of total bilirubin and direct bilirubin in two groups 3 months after operation were lower than those before operation,and the high dose group was lower than the low dose group(P<0.05).The regression of jaundice in high-dose group was better than that in low-dose group(P<0.05).There was no difference in complication rate and incidence of postoperative cholangitis between high-dose group and low-dose group(P>0.05).Conclusion High-dose methylprednisolone therapy can improve the level of serum bilirubin,promote the regression of jaundice for children with biliary atresia.
