Abstract: Objective To investigate the effect of Tai Chi"thirteen types"of traditional Chinese medicine combined with west-ern rehabilitation exercise prescription in the treatment of cervical radiculopathy(CR).Methods Seventy-six patients with CR admitted to the hospital from January to December 2019 were selected as objects. The included patients were coded by numbers(1~76)and divided into three groups according to the random number table method.Numbers 1~25 were included in the west-ern rehabilitation exercise group, numbers 26~50 were included in the Tai Chi group, and numbers 51~76 were included in the integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine exercise group. The therapeutic effect was evaluated from biological,psycho-logical and sociological dimensions, that is,the changes of pain, grip strength, cervical joint motion(ROM),cervical spine dys-function index(NDI)and quality of life before and after treatment were observed. Results After 12,24 and 36 weeks, the scores of resting visual analog scale(VAS)and activity VAS in the integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine exercise group were lower than those in the western rehabilitation exercise group and Tai Chi group, while the grip strength was higher than that in the western rehabilitation exercise group and Tai Chi group(P<0.05).After 12,24 and 36 weeks, the ROM of patients in the inte-grated traditional Chinese and Western medicine exercise group was greater than that in western rehabilitation exercise group and Tai Chi group(P<0.05).After 12,24 and 36 weeks, the NDI score of the integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine exercise group was lower than that of western rehabilitation exercise group and Tai Chi group, and the total score of SF-36 was higher than that of western rehabilitation exercise group and Tai Chi group(P<0.05).Conclusion Tai chi"thirteen styles"com-bined with western rehabilitation exercises can further improve the therapeutic effect and the quality of life of the patients, which is an effective treatment program.
