Abstract: Objective To design nursing signboard according to clinical needs and explore its effect on preventing adverse events in post-anesthesia care unit(PACU).Methods A total of 600 PACU patients in the First Medical Center of Chinese PLA General Hospital from February 2018 to May 2019 were selected and divided into two groups, the control group(n=300)and the experimental group(n=300),according to random number table method. The control group was given routine nursing procedure, and the experimental group used nursing signboard in the process of nursing shift and PACU nursing. The incidences of adverse events, such as liquid extrava-sation,delayed awakening, unplanned tracheal extubation and unplanned arterial catheterization, were observed in both groups.Nursing quality questionnaire was used to evaluate the performance of nurses, including five dimensions, pipeline management, patient safety man-agement,integrity of shift content, communication and transfer management. The nursing satisfaction survey scale was used to investigate nurses'job satisfaction. Results Compared with the control group, the adoption of nursing signboard in PACU in the experimental group could reduce the incidence of adverse events and improve nurses'satisfaction, which was statistically significance(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of nursing signboard in PACU can effectively reduce the incidence of adverse events and improve the quality of nursing, which is worthy of clinical application.
