Abstract： In November 2023,the Shanghai Nursing Association issued the association standard Nursing Practice for Lacrimal Duct Irrigation.The standard standardizes the operating procedures and requirements for lacrimal duct irrigation in adults,aiming to ensure the safety and effectiveness of irrigation,enhance the competency of ophthalmic specialist nurses and elevate patients'trust in medical services.This article provides an interpretation of the association standard,covering its formulation background,main contents and recommendations for clinical application and promotion,aiming to assist ophthalmic specialist nurses in understanding and executing the standard and provide a reference for standardizing lacrimal duct irrigation operations at various medical institutions at all levels and improving the nursing quality in ophthalmology departments.
