Abstract： Objective To explore the effects of periodontal basic therapy combined with Ganlu Drink on glucose me-tabolism indexes in the treatment of diabetes mellitus with periodontitis.Methods A total of 98 patients with diabetes mellitus and periodontitis admitted to Lvliang People's Hospital from January 2023 to February 2024 were selected as the study objects and divided into two groups with 49 cases in each group by random ball-touching method.Both groups received routine hypoglycemic treatment,the control group combined with periodontal basic treatment,and the study group combined with Ganlu Drink on the basis of the control group for treatment.Glucose metabolism,periodon-tal indexes,inflammatory factors and quality of life were compared between the two groups.Results After 1 month of treatment,the fasting blood glucose level and 2-hour postprandial blood glucose level of the study group were lower than those of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).After 1 month of treat-ment,gingival index,sulcus bleeding index and clinical attachment level in the study group were better than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The levels of various inflammatory fac-tors in the study group were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The quality of life scores of the study group were higher than those of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion The application of periodontal basic therapy combined with Ganlu Drink in the treatment of diabetes mellitus with periodontitis can reduce the blood glucose level,improve peri-odontal indexes,reduce inflammatory factors levels and improve the quality of life of patients.
