Abstract: Objective To analyze the effects of remazolam on blood glucose level and heart rate variability in type 2 diabetes patients during anesthesia induction. Methods A total of 100 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus undergo-ing endotracheal intubation under general anesthesia admitted to Zhongshan Hospital Affiliated to Xiamen University from January to December 2023 were selected as the study objects, and they were divided into the control group(50 cases)and the study group(50 cases)by random number table method. The control group was given propofol induced anesthesia, and the study group was given remazolam induced anesthesia. The fasting blood glucose level, insulin level and heart rate variability indexes of the two groups were compared at different time points during anesthesia in-duction period. Results After anesthesia induction and during tracheal intubation, the fasting blood glucose level and insulin level in the two groups were higher than before anesthesia induction, and the fasting blood glucose level in the study group was lower than that in the control group, and the insulin level was higher than that in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).After anesthesia induction, the high frequency power, low frequency power and low frequency power/high frequency power of the two groups were lower than before anesthe-sia induction, and the low frequency power, low frequency power/high frequency power and high frequency power of the study group were higher than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion Remazolam can reduce the blood glucose level during anesthesia induction, reduce the influence of surgical stress on blood glucose level and heart rate variability, and the anesthetic effect is ideal.
