Abstract: Objective To investigate the value of perioperative insulin pump in elderly diabetic patients with intertro-chanteric fracture of femur.Method Clinical data of 100 elderly patients with diabetes mellitus and intertrochanteric fracture of femur who received fixation in the 73rd Group Military Hospital of the Chinese People's Liberation Army from August 2022 to March 2024 were retrospectively selected.According to different glucose control methods, they were divided into control group(n=50,routine subcutaneous insulin injection)and study group(n=50,insulin pump treatment). The control of glucose metabolism, clinical efficacy and complications were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, the levels of glucose metabolism were lower in the study group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Compared with the control group, the study group had higher clinical effi-cacy and lower complication rate, and the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).Conclusion In el-derly diabetic patients with intertrochanteric fracture of femur, insulin pump therapy during surgical treatment has a remarkable effect on glucose control, which can improve clinical efficacy and reduce the incidence of complications.
