Abstract: Objective To explore the value of insulin aspart(IA)combined with insulin detemir(ID)in the treatment of elderly type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)based on blood glucose variability.Methods A total of 70 elderly patients with T2DM admitted to Zhangzhou Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University from October 2021 to November 2022 were selected as the research objects.According to the random number table method,they were divided into two groups,with 35 cases in each group.The combination group was treated with IA combined with ID,and the control group was treated with IA.The blood glucose level,body mass index(BMI),blood glucose variability,and blood glu-cose control time were compared between the two groups.Results After 3 months of treatment,the BMI levels and fast-ing blood glucose in the combination group were(25.11±2.23)kg/m2 and(6.21±0.53)mmol/L,which were lower than those in the control group(26.57±2.41)kg/m2 and(6.57±0.51)mmol/L,and the differences were statistically signifi-cant(both P<0.05).After treatment,the maximum blood glucose fluctuation amplitude,postprandial blood glucose fluctuation amplitude,fasting blood glucose variation coefficient and average blood glucose fluctuation amplitude in the combined group were(4.22±0.88)mmol/L,(2.66±0.31)mmol/L,9.84±2.51 and(3.63±0.24)mmol/L significantly lower than those in the control group(6.31±1.12)mmol/L,(3.57±0.42)mmol/L,14.27±5.48 and(4.27±0.22)mmol/L,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).After treatment,the time for blood glucose to reach the standard in the combination group was(3.87±1.22)d shorter than that in the control group(5.34±1.76)d,and the dif-ference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of IA and ID therapy in elderly T2DM pa-tients can control the blood glucose level,stabilize the blood glucose variability and significantly shorten the blood glu-cose compliance time.
