Abstract: Objective To explore the effect of dapagliflozin on blood glucose control in patients with surgically treated diabetes mellitus complicated with lumbar compression fracture. Methods The clinical data of 80 patients with diabe-tes complicated with lumbar compression fracture admitted to the 73rd Group Military Hospital of the Chinese People's Liberation Army from June 2022 to February 2024 were retrospectively selected, all of them were treated with lumbar arthroplasty.According to the different drugs used in postoperative blood glucose control, they were di-vided into control group(n=40,combined with metformin and insulin glargine)and observation group(n=40,combined with dapagliflozin on the basis of control group).Blood glucose control, adverse reactions and clinical efficacy were compared between the two groups. Results After 2 months of treatment, all blood glucose levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).The clinical effi-cacy of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion In patients with diabetes mellitus complicated with lumbar compression fracture, the addition of dapagliflozin on the basis of routine hypoglycemic measures after surgery has better blood glucose control effect and lower risk of adverse reactions.
