Abstract: Objective To study the therapeutic effect of Wumei Pill and Bazhen Decoction on obese type 2 diabetes patients with deficiency of qi and yin with phlegm and blood stasis syndrome. Methods A total of 100 obese type 2 diabetes mellitus patients with deficiency of qi and yin with phlegm and blood stasis syndrome treated by Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital of Tong'an District in Xiamen,Fujian Province from June 2022 to June 2023 were se-lected as the study objects.According to a random number table method, they were divided into two groups with 50 cases each. The control group was treated with conventional metformin, while the observation group was treated with a combination of Wumei Piu and Bazhen Tang. The clinical efficacy, blood glucose levels, body mass index(BMI),the proportion of adverse reactions in the two groups was compared. Results The observation group had an overall effec-tiveness rate of 96.00%,which was higher than the control group's 82.00%,and the difference was statistically signifi-cant(χ2=5.005,P=0.025).Before treatment, there were no significant differences in blood glucose level BMI between the two groups(both P>0.05).After treatment, compared with the control group, the above indexes were lower in the observation group, and the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between groups(P>0.05).Conclusion The application of Wumei Pill and Bazhen Decoction in the treatment of obese type 2 diabetes mellitus patients with deficency qi and yin deficiency with phlegm and blood stasis syndrome has a significant effect. It has obvious advantages in reducing blood glucose and BMI val-ues,with fewer adverse drug reactions.
