Abstract: Objective To analyze the effects of L-carnitine on blood glucose, renal function and inflammation in dia-betic nephropathy maintenance hemodialysis patients. Methods The clinical data of 72 diabetic nephropathy mainte-nance hemodialysis patients admitted to the nephrology Department of Baiyin Third People's Hospital from January 2022 to December 2023 were retrospectively selected, and they were divided into control group(36 cases)and obser-vation group(36 cases)according to the difference treatment plan. The control group received conventional treatment, and the observation group received intravenous infusion of L-carnitine on the basis of conventional treatment.Blood glucose, renal function, inflammatory response indexes, effective rate and incidence of adverse reactions were com-pared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results After treatment, all indexes of the two groups were significantly improved compared with before treatment, and the indexes of blood glucose, kidney function and inflam-matory factors in the observation group were better than those in the control group, and the treatment effective rate was higher than that in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).There was no sig-nificant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion On the basis of conventional treatment, the use of L-carnitine can better improve the blood glucose level and kidney function in dia-betic nephropathy maintenance hemodialysis patients, reduce inflammatory response, achieve better treatment effi-ciency,and has good safety.
