Abstract: OBJECTIVE To analyze the reported cases of pertussis in Yizheng from 2011 to 2023,and to discuss prevention and control strategies.METHODS Information of pertussis cases with current address in Yizheng and onset between January 1st,2011 and December 31st,2023 was collected from the China Disease Prevention and Control Information System.Descriptive epidemiological methods were used to analyze the characteristics of case distribution.RESULTS Cumulatively,38 cases of pertussis were reported in Yizheng from 2011 to 2023,with an average annual reported incidence rate of 0.30/105 per year.Among them, there was 1 case in 2011(0.18/105),1 case in 2018(0.18/105),2 cases in 2021(0.38/105),34 cases in 2022(6.38/105),and no cases of pertussis were re-ported in other years. There were equal proportions of males and females, and the number of reports and the composition ratio of each age group were<1 year old(5 cases,13.2%),1~4 years old(11 cases,28.9%),5~9 years old(20 cases,52.6%),and≥10 years old(2 cases,5.3%),respectively.The number of all cases who received at least 1 dose of pertussis-containing vaccine was 34(89.5%),and the number of cases who completed the full 4-dose vaccination was 31(81.6%).CONCLUSION The reported inci-dence of pertussis in Yizheng did not show a significant trend from 2011 to 2023,and the actual incidence rate is more likely to be underestimated. The implementation of new methods of laboratory diagnosis should be actively promoted to improve the knowledge of medical personnel about the current status of pertussis cases and the diagnostic awareness of young children at an early age,and to strengthen publicity on the social front to enhance the knowledge rate of the parents of the affected children and their adherence to the disease control measures.
