Abstract: Objective:To investigate the awareness of the knowledge of hyperbaric oxygen(HBO)therapy in chamber attending nurses of a rehabilitation hospital and their attitudes and needs towards chamber attending care. Methods:In October 2022,a self-designed questionnaire was used to investigate 156 nurses from ten nursing units in a tertiary rehabilitation hospital in Nanjing to survey their knodwledge and understanding regarding HBO therapy and the management of HBO chamber attending care. Results:According to the answers of the rehabilitation hospital nurses regarding the knowledge of HBO chambers, the items with the correct answer rate from high to low were as follows:“Common nursing operations inside the HBO chamber”(83.9%),“Extinguishing fires inside the HBO chamber”(79.5%),“Requirements before entering the HBO chamber”(73.7%),“Indications and contraindications of HBO therapy”(70.5%),“Standard pressure during HBO therapy”(67.9%),and “HBO chamber related concepts”(65.4%). Nursing personnel with senior academic titles had a better grasp of HBO knowledge compared with nurses with medium academic titles and jonior nurses, and the differences were statistically significant( P<0.05). All of the nurses considered chamber attending care is very necessary, but 75% of them worried about the potential risks of chamber attending on their own health,94.9% of them wished to alleviate stress through regular psychological counseling, and 85.3% of them suggested that the chamber attending management system should be improved. Conclusion:The rehabilitation hospitals need to strengthen systematic training and educational guidance on HBO knowledge for chamber attending nurses. Regular psychological counseling in various forms should be provided, and the relevant departments should jointly improve the chamber attending management system.
