Abstract: Advances in fluorescence imaging have greatly stimulated the research into fluorescent imaging agents.Clinically available fluorescent imaging agents include indocyanine green, methylene blue, and 5-aminolevulinic acid.Although these agents have been widely used, their in vivo fluorescence imaging sites and types vary, possibly due to differences in their routes of administration and pharmacokinetic processes. However, clinical pharmacokinetic studies of fluorescent imaging agents are scarce, particularly in special population groups. This article reviewed the clinical application and pharmacokinetic properties of commercially available fluorescent imaging agents,to provide a direction for the clinical application and optimization of drug use.
