Abstract： Saussurea involucrata is a rare traditional Chinese herbal medicine,which can dispel rheumatism strengthen muscles and bones,tonify and nourish the kidney yang,regulate menstruation and stop bleeding,etc.Polysaccharides,one of the main bioactive chemical constituents in Saussurea involucrata,have many bioactivities,such as antioxidant,anti-inflammatory,termination of pregnancy,antibacterial,and antiviral effect.This review systematically summarized its structure and bioactivities,aiming to provide reference for future in-depth research on Saussurea involucrata polysaccharides and the development of innovative drugs and utilization of functional product.
