Abstract: Objective To explore the effect of the improved Peyton four-step teaching method in the clinical teach-ing of ophthalmology nursing operations.Methods 64 students who practiced in the ophthalmology clinic of our hospital from August 2022 to December 2023 were selected as the research objects.The observation group adopted the improved Peyton four-step teaching method,while the control group adopted the traditional teaching method.After the two groups of nursing students completed the ophthalmology outpatient practice,the evaluation results of TCM nursing operation and teaching satisfaction were compared.Results The scores of TCM nursing operation and teaching satisfaction of the obser-vation group were higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of the modified Peyton four-step teaching method in the clinical teaching of ophthalmology traditional Chinese medicine nursing operation can sig-nificantly improve nursing students'level of traditional Chinese medicine nursing operations,increase classroom interac-tion and participation,improve classroom efficiency,and enhance nursing students'satisfaction with teaching.
