Five cases of familial osteogenesis imperfecta were reported. Clinical and X-ray findings were presented. The main characteristics of the disease were repeated fractures following slight trauma, severely deformed limbs, and blue sclerae. Multiple osteotomy with intra-medullary nail fixation was done for 3 of the 5 cases. After 3-6 years follow-up, the results were satisfactory. The authors stressed that such fractures should be treated promptly so as to prevent deformity of the limbs. If a serious deformity be present, it should be corrected by surgery.
